Year 13 Visit the Globe Theatre

Year 13 Visit the Globe Theatre

Year 13 A-level English Literature students recently had the fantastic opportunity to see Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night performed live at The Globe Theatre in London.

This trip was an important part of their A-level studies, allowing students to experience the play as it was originally intended - as a live performance on a historic Elizabethan stage. Seeing the production at the Globe helped students to deepen their understanding of how performance, staging, and audience interaction bring Shakespeare’s language and comedy to life.

The visit also supported their exam preparation, encouraging them to think critically about directorial choices, character interpretation, and staging - all key elements when writing about the play in performance.

It was a wonderful day of theatre, laughter, and learning, offering students a true insight into the energy and atmosphere of Shakespeare’s world.
