Early Careers Teachers

The Early Career Teacher (ECT) induction programme at Bolder is a structured yet flexible process designed to support new teachers during the crucial first two years of their careers.

This programme bridges initial teacher training with the professional demands of classroom teaching, using the Early Career Training Programme (ECTP) to underpin a structured system of support, development, and assessment. Bolder Academy partners with Teach First and Aldridge Education to deliver an outstanding, world-class  induction that meets national standards and ensures new teachers achieve success across all Teacher Standards.

The induction framework includes regular observations, coaching, mentoring and access to high-quality training, enabling ECTs to build a strong foundation for a long-term teaching career. The programme designed by Teach First and Aldridge Education offers the Academy fresh, up to date content which is underpinned by extensive research and experience. ECTs are given a coach at the start of their induction and this relationship is of paramount importance in their development. Our coaches and mentors are hand-picked to ensure that ECTs have role-models within the institution.  We have an extremely strong field of teaching staff, most of whom progress to become mentors, coaches and middle leaders.  Of this, Bolder is extremely proud and can boast growing strength in this area of the school.

Coaches/mentors meet weekly with ECTs, offer instructional coaching, observe teaching practice, and provide valuable feedback.

Bolder also offers bespoke continued professional development (CPD) around teaching and learning and it’s complicities, led by our expanding teaching and learning team.
Bolder is an excellent place to be an Early Career Teacher as many of our ECTs have progressed in their careers, to become Subject leads, Heads of Department and Assistant Head Teachers.
