Parent & Carer Communication

Purpose of This Page

To support open, respectful, and effective communication between parents and the school, helping to build strong partnerships that benefit every student.

Types of Communication to Use This Page For
  • Pastoral Concerns: Matters related to wellbeing, friendships, behaviour, bullying, or emotional health.
  • Academic Concerns: Questions or concerns about a child’s progress, understanding, workload, or classroom experience.
  • Other: General queries about school routines or policies, feedback or suggestions, relevant updates about your child’s circumstances, or requests to speak with a specific staff member.
Do's and Don’ts for Communicating Respectfully

✅ Do:

  • Be clear and specific about your concern or message.
  • Use calm, polite, and respectful language.
  • Allow staff reasonable time to respond (usually within 48 working hours).
  • Focus on solutions and next steps.
  • Assume staff are working in the best interest of your child.

❌ Don’t:

  • Use aggressive, rude, or accusatory language.
  • Contact multiple staff about the same issue simultaneously.
  • Raise private concerns publicly (e.g., on social media).
  • Expect immediate responses, especially outside of school hours.
  • Make assumptions without first seeking clarity.
