Year 10 Geography Trip to Naples

Year 10 Geography Trip to Naples

During the Easter Holiday, a group of 42 Year 10 students and 5 staff travelled to Sorrento for a four-day trip. The visit gave students the opportunity to experience a new place away from home, build independence and spending time with their friends. Being in a different environment allowed them to see geographical features they have studied in lessons in real life, bringing their learning into a much more meaningful context. During the trip, students visited Mount Vesuvius, although the visit was cut short due to poor weather conditions. Despite this, they were able to spend time in nearby towns instead, which they enjoyed and made the most of.

Other highlights included time spent in Naples and a visit to Capri, where students travelled by ferry and explored the island, as well as a visit to Pompeii, where they were able to see the effects of the volcanic eruption first-hand. Throughout the trip, students had fun and made the most of the experience.
