Student Leadership News
A big congratulations to our fantastic Student Leadership Team!
Their commitment has been brilliant, and we're excited for the whole school to hear about the amazing initiatives they'll be leading this year.
Well done to all involved!
Empowering Tomorrow's Leaders Today
We're thrilled to announce that our Student Leadership Team is now fully assembled across all year groups, marking an exciting new chapter for Bolder Academy.
Our Sixth Form student leaders have hit the ground running this academic year, participating in project management training delivered by Accenture. This professional development programme has equipped them with industry-standard skills and frameworks to excel in their leadership roles throughout the year.
Each committee brings a unique focus to our school community:
Academic – championing excellence in teaching and learning
Enterprise – fostering innovation and entrepreneurial thinking
Environment & Sustainability – leading our green initiatives
Inclusion – ensuring every voice is heard and valued
Sports – promoting health, wellbeing and competitive spirit
This partnership with Accenture ensures our student leaders aren't just representing their peers – they're developing real-world competencies in event management, strategic planning, and team coordination that will serve them well beyond their time at Bolder Academy.
Student Leaders Meet Senior Leadership Team
Our Sixth Form Student Leaders are actively collaborating with the Senior Leadership Team through regular strategic partnership meetings. Each committee representative brings their unique perspective, ensuring student voice directly influences key school decisions.
Real Leadership, Real Impact
These genuine working partnerships enable our student leaders to:
Co-create solutions to whole-school challenges alongside senior staff
Drive meaningful change that benefits the entire school community
Develop transferable skills in strategic thinking, stakeholder management and professional communication
Build their professional portfolio with authentic leadership experience for future careers and university applications
The skills they're developing – from presenting to senior stakeholders to managing complex projects – mirror the competencies demanded in today's workplace, whilst ensuring student initiatives align with our school improvement priorities.
This week, our Year 13 Student Leaders delivered a powerful series of mental health assemblies to mark World Mental Health Day, reaching students from Year 7 to Year 13.
Peer-Led Impact
Our Year 13 leaders have:
Created safe conversations using relatable language and real-life scenarios
Signposted support pathways – ensuring every student knows where to turn, from trusted teachers to school counselling and external organisations like Childline and YoungMinds
Modelled vulnerability – demonstrating that talking about mental health is a sign of strength
Normalised help-seeking – making it clear that support is available without judgment
Our Year 13 leaders have shown exceptional maturity and compassion, and their impact will be felt long after this week concludes.
